A Busy Weekend…

I don’t have any pictures from this weekend but it sure went by quickly.

After dinner on Friday night, Tony & I went to his Aunt & Uncle’s house for a family get together.  His mom is 1 of 8 siblings and 7 of them were in town.  Maryann, the only one missing, was able to Skype in from Australia.  It was great getting together and catching up with everyone.  Now that we live within a half hour of most of Tony’s cousins, I hope we will be able to see them more.  It is always fun when a we can spend time with our families.

Tony’s grandparents on his Dad’s side moved back to Northern Kentucky last week so we went over on Saturday afternoon to check out their new cottage.  We helped put together some furniture and assemble some shelves.  We hung around most of the day and spent some time with Tony’s relatives.

Sunday we got up and went to church.  We tried out a new church just down the road and really liked it.  I want to get involved in a church here.  That is one thing I didn’t do in Greenville and really wish I did.

After church we came home and did yard work all afternoon.  We don’t have any grass to cut but we have plenty of mulch that has weeds in it.  The paved driveway was growing weeds so Tony worked all afternoon getting rid of the dirt that had accumulated in it!   I worked on planting flowers, cleaning the sidewalk & steps and weeding.  We were exhausted Sunday night!

We live within walking distance to many restaurants and shops so of course on one of the hottest days of the year I thought it would be a great day to walk to Kroger.  It is about 3/4 of a mile walk to get there which isn’t bad at all.  Tony and I walked there after work and managed to stop at Michael’s & the hardware store on our way.  Instead of going to the grocery store hungry, we stopped in at a local BBQ restaurant and grabbed a quick bite to eat.  After dinner we finally managed to make it to the store and were able to just buy what was on our list since we had to carry our purchases home!

It has been a busy few days and I’m exhausted.  Time to curl up on the couch and watch the Home Run Derby!
