Spaghetti Squash Surprise

A new blog post is a rare thing lately on theSheenBean.  My blog hasn’t been my priority lately but I hope to find a routine that can include a few blog posts each week.

Tonight after work I went straight to the Ronald McDonald House to help serve dinner as a volunteer with the Resident Spouse Association.  I was planning on making spaghetti squash for dinner at home but knew it would be 7:30 or 8 before I got home.  It takes over an hour for it to cook so I knew it would be after 9 before we would have a chance to sit down for dinner.  Luckily Tony was home much earlier than me and was willing to make dinner.

This afternoon I sent him this email:

Spaghetti squash

And I came home to this:

Spaghetti squash 1

A plate of spaghetti squash topped with ground turkey, sauce and cheese!

Spaghetti squash

It was delicious!  I forgot to tell him how to shred the squash but luckily he has seen me make it before and remembered what to do!  We have plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow.  I am so thankful to have such a great husband that will do crazy things like cook a spaghetti squash for dinner (and even do the dishes!).

What are you thankful for?

  1. ah! i love that you sent directions for how to make dinner – it’s quite the opposite for me. i NEED the directions to make any sort of semblance of dinner :)

i’ve been wanting to try spaghetti squash for a while now – may have to your meal!
